13 Mar Columbia Point Eye Care Closes on Vista Field Land Purchase
Kennewick, Wash. – An eye care clinic and retail building will soon be under construction at Vista Field.
Dr. Brandon Furness and Dr. Royce Barney closed March 12 on Lot 31 at 6737 Azure Drive, purchasing the property from Port of Kennewick. The sale marks the third recorded deed within phase one at Vista Field.
Furness and Barney own Columbia Point Eye Care in Richland and Columbia Point Eye Care in Kennewick. The doctors’ Vista Field project includes a 7,000-square-foot building with dedicated medical offices, optical retail and approximately 1,500 square feet of retail tenant space. They have finished permitting and will begin construction within 90 days. Completion is planned for fall 2025.
“This will be a signature building for Vista Field, creating a medical center, a retail optical shop and leasable tenant space. So, we are getting several businesses with this one building,” said Amber Hanchette, the port’s director of real estate. “The doctors and their architects have embraced the concept of new urbanism, taking care to plan the visual approach for all three sides of their building. They designed a beautiful façade along Azure Drive and created an attractive approach from both pedestrian walkways and the parking lot.”
Columbia Point Eye Care is the first medical facility coming to Vista Field. Medical is a desired use as it creates a natural transition between future Vista Field residential development and activity closer to the water feature and open-air pavilions.
Eight phase one parcels at Vista Field are now sold or pending for residential, retail and commercial space. Learn more and view available lots for sale at VistaField.com.
