09 Jan Board of Commissioners Elects 2018 – 2019 Officers
Kennewick, Wash. – On Tuesday, January 9, Port of Kennewick held an oath of office ceremony for Commissioner Skip Novakovich, who retained his position on the Board of Commissioners during the past election. Novakovich will serve a six-year term as Port Commissioner representing District 3. He joins Commissioner Don Barnes, representing District 1 and Thomas Moak, representing District 2 in comprising the Port’s Board of Commissioners.
In a separate action, Port Commissioners also elected officers of the board to serve during both the 2018 and 2019 biennium. Those positions are as follows: Thomas Moak, president; Don Barnes, vice president; and Skip Novakovich, secretary.
Port Commissioners are responsible for representing public interests; setting Port policy; determining program direction; setting long and short term goals; approving the biennial budget; and assisting with leadership development of the organization.
