Vista Field Airport is Permanently CLOSED  




Closure Progress
Port of Kennewick Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 2013-16 providing additional direction to staff and establishing a closure date for the Vista Field airport.   A list of decommissioning activities was also established, including:
► directing staff to allow fuel tanks to diminish -- COMPLETED
► refraining from plowing snow/ice and issuing NOTAMs as appropriate -- COMPLETED
► communicating with the FAA regarding airport closure -- COMPLETED
► deconstructing the FBO building and readying the site for redevelopment
► providing maintenance and repair only in furtherance of life, health, and/or safety issues
Port staff will work to implement the commissioners’ redevelopment directive as a catalyst for bringing positive economic development to our district.
